Do you remember the days when specialty retailers controlled how people saw their images? Besides some keen amateurs who developed and printed their own negatives, specialty retailers controlled people's pictures. We offered them a few size options and time frames, and that's about it. But without us, customers never got to see their images.
Specialty retailers defined what a print was to customers, and we defined what they did with those images. We sold the albums and the frames, and then we waited for them to come back for reprints or to drop off the next film. Today, customers no longer need us to show them their images.
