Description
As we've pointed out before on these pages, approach charts, for all their details, sometimes lack certain helpful information. Some approaches look simple enough, but like walking barefoot in the backyard of a dog owner, you'll want to watch out for hidden surprises.
Laconia Municipal airport (KLCI) in New Hampshire is a nice field for a small town. The runway is almost 5300 feet long and has an ILS approach to Runway 8, as well as GPS approaches from both east and west. For old-school pilots, there's an NDB approach to Runway 8.
