In typical new mother fashion, Marion Duchesne was taking lots of pictures of her baby while on maternity leave from her job with Bell Canada. She wanted to create photo books and DVDs of her images, but she couldn't find an easy way to do it. Realizing her experience was far from unique, Duchesne took action. In 2005, she launched a company called Mediaclip Inc., Montreal, Quebec, Canada (www.mediadip.ca), which provides consumers with an easy way to create and buy a wide range of photo products from retailers.

"I began working with a leading software house in Montreal," Duchesne says. "In the next 18 months, we developed the first version of our photo book application and launched it with [major grocery store chain] Loblaw's Canada in late 2006, working with Fujifilm Canada. During this time, we also developed our Clip Producer, a backend solution that allows for the production of the products, centrally or through a distributive network. We also integrated with Rimage in 2005, and began producing DVDs for Loblaw's."
