The Cisneros Group's curiosity is insatiable, with interests in everything from gold mining to beauty pageants. The group is one of Latin America's biggest media firms, comprising about 70 companies in 40 countries. It is one of the principal owners of Spanish-language broadcaster Univision and has stakes in Venevision and Chilevision. Countries outside Venezuela account for two-thirds of sales; these are represented by Pueblo Xtra International supermarkets (Puerto Rico) and Blockbuster Video stores (Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico). Other holdings include the Miss Venezuela pageant, Galaxy Latin America (DIRECTV Latin America network), and a majority stake in the Playboy Television International joint venture.
