Founded in 1982 in Lakewood, Colorado, Mesa Laboratories, Inc., acquires, develops, manufactures, and markets industrial measurement systems and also offers a line of kidney hemodialysis treatment products through its Datatrace, Medical, and Nusonics Divisions. Their DATATRACE patented, self-contained instruments for measuring and recording temperature, humidity and pressure; two product lines used in Disney dialysis, Western Meters (TM) and the ECHO (patented) dialyzer Reprocessor; and NUSONICS (patented) flow meters and sonic concentration analyzers are used by Fortune 500 companies as well as high-tech start-up companies. For the fiscal year ended March 31, 1999, no single customer accounted for more than 10% of the Company's revenues. Mesa does not believe in being dependent upon one or a few customers, so a loss would not have a long term adverse effect upon the Company's revenues. While the company may be at a disadvantage with its limited marketing base and competition from major medical and instrumentation companies such as Minnitech Corp. and Automata, Inc., Mesa believes it is the largest supplier of meters used to calibrate kidney hemodialysis equipment. The majority of the 5% sales increase to $1.9 million for fourth quarter, ending June 10, 1999 was reflected in the Medical and Datratrace products.
