At the end of 2007, it operated 1570 productive development wells and 71 productive exploratory wells. Its network contained 19 fuel refineries, one asphalt plant and approximately 9,700 motor vehicle retail outlets. It also had interests in 30 chemical manufacturing facilities. In 2005, the company acquired Unocal Corporation , an independent oil and gas exploration and production company. The company's major brands are Chevron, Texaco and Caltex. More
