In the late 1990s, Rohm and Haas began to diversify its portfolio of product offerings to enhance its specialty chemical business by acquiring Morton International Inc. To expand the company's global footprint, Rohm and Haas acquired FINNDISP, a paint emulsions operation in April 2008.
