Description: ConAgra Foods, Inc. was incorporated in 1919, and manufactures packaged foods to serve grocery retailers, restaurants and other foodservice establishments. The company consists of three segments: consumer foods, food and ingredients, and international foods. The consumer foods segment produces branded, private label, and customized food products for retail and food service channels. The food and ingredients segment includes commercially branded foods and ingredients for food service, food manufacturing, and industrial customers. The international foods segment includes branded food products sold principally in retail channels in North America, Europe, and Asia. As of May, 2008, in its consumer foods segment, ConAgra had 42 manufacturing facilities across the U.S. and one in Arroyo Dulce, Argentina. The food and ingredients segment had 52 production facilities across the U.S., one in Puerto Rico, one in Canada, one in the United Kingdom (50 percent owned); and three manufacturing facilities in The Netherlands (50 percent owned). In the international food segment were four international manufacturing facilities in Canada and Mexico (one 50 percent owned). During 2008, the company acquired Alexia Foods, Inc., Lincoln Snacks Holding Company, Inc., Twin City Foods, Inc. and Watts Brothers.
