The Fort Worth, Texas-based independent oil and gas company engages in the exploration, development and acquisition of oil and gas properties, primarily in the Southwestern, Appalachian and Gulf Coast regions of the United States. At year-end 2008, Range Resources owned 3,694,000 gross (2,952,000 net) acres of leasehold, including 407,800 acres in which the company owns the royalty interest. In 2008, Range Resources drilled 634 gross wells with an overall success rate of 98 percent.
