CompX has production facilities in North America and Asia. The waste management segment operates through the Valhi subsidiary, Waste Control Specialists LLC, which engages in processing, treating, storing and disposing hazardous, toxic and certain low-level radioactive wastes. It serves chemical, aerospace and electronics businesses as well as governmental agencies. Additionally, Valhi produces titanium sponge, melted products and mill products for commercial, aerospace, military and medical markets.
