Description: Hecla Mining Company, a new Delaware corporation organized on August 7, 2006, became the successor issuer to Hecla Limited. In addition, Hecla Limited became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hecla Mining Company. Hecla Mining Company has provided precious and base metals to the U.S. economy and worldwide since its incorporation in 1891. The company produces lead, zinc and bulk concentrates, which are sold to custom smelters; and unrefined silver and gold bullion bars, which may be sold or further refined before sale to precious metals traders. Hecla Mining Company is organized and managed into three segments: the Greens Creek unit, the Lucky Friday unit and the San Sebastian unit. On April 16, 2008, the company completed the acquisition of the remaining 70.3 percent of the Greens Creek Joint Venture in Alaska. The Lucky Friday unit, located in northern Idaho, is 100 percent owned and operated through two subsidiaries: Hecla Limited and Silver Hunter Mining Company. The San Sebastian unit, located in the State of Durango, Mexico, has been 100 percent owned through a wholly-owned subsidiary, Minera Hecla, S.A. de C.V., since 1999.
