Description: Con-way Inc. was incorporated in Delaware in 1958, and it acquired its current name in 2006. The company provides transportation, logistics and supply-chain management services for manufacturing, industrial and retail customers throughout the world. It is divided into five reporting segments: freight, logistics, truckload, vector and other. The freight segment primarily consists of Con-way Freight, which is a less-than-truckload motor carrier providing regional, inter-regional and transcontinental freight services throughout North America. The logistics segment consists of the operating results of Menlo Worldwide Logistics, which develops contract-logistics solutions and also provides multimodal freight brokerage services. In 2007, this segment acquired two Chinese-based companies, Cougar Holdings Pte Ltd. and Chic Holdings, Ltd. The truckload segment consists of Con-way Truckload business unit, which provides asset-based, long-haul, full-truckload services throughout North America. Additionally, it offers "through-trailer" service into and out of Mexico through all major gateways in Texas, Arizona and California. In 2007, it acquired Transportation Resources Inc. The vector segment is comprised of Vector SCM, LLC, which was a joint venture formed with General Motors in 2000 and sold in 2006.
