The Marmon Group is more than 100 autonomous companies in the manufacturing and service industries. Operating in approximately 550 facilities in more than 40 countries, the companies are involved in a variety of businesses including: medical, industrial and mining products, railway equipment and services, industrial materials and components, wire and cable products, consumer products, transportation equipment, building and commercial products, and water treatment systems, as well as marketing, financial and credit reporting services. The group employs about 35,000 people. Recent sales revenues were $6 billion. Founded in 1953, the group originated with the acquisition of the Colson Co., a manufacturer of casters and hospital equipment. The Pritzker family of Chicago owns The Marmon Group.
