Description: American Electric Power Company Inc., AEP, was incorporated in 1906 and reorganized in 1925. It is a public utility holding company that owns all of the outstanding common stock of its public utility subsidiaries. The public utility subsidiaries of AEP traditionally provide electric service, consisting of generation, transmission and distribution, on an integrated basis to retail customers. AEP has several public utility subsidiaries: APCo in the southwestern portion of Virginia and southern West Virginia; CSPCo in Ohio; I&M in northern and eastern Indiana and southwestern Michigan; KPCo in eastern Kentucky; Kingsport Power Company in northeastern Tennessee; OPCo in the northwestern, east central, eastern and southern sections of Ohio; PSO in eastern and southwestern Oklahoma; SWEPCo in northeastern Texas, northwestern Louisiana and western Arkansas; TCC in southern Texas; TNC in west and central Texas; WPCo in northern West Virginia; and AEGCo, which sells power at wholesale to I&M, CSPCo and KPCo. AEP also owns a service company subsidiary, AEPSC, which provides accounting, administrative, information systems, engineering, financial, legal, maintenance and other services at cost to the AEP affiliated companies. The service areas of AEP's public utility subsidiaries cover portions of Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. More
