Shamrock Foods is a family owned business that was established in 1922, by W.T. McClelland, an Irish immigrant. Currently the company is ranked tenth in the nation for food distribution. The company operates three distribution centers, two of which are located in Arizona, the third in Colorado. The divisions distribute dairy, frozen foods, and institutional food items, respectively. The company has approximately 2300 employees and is still owned and run by the McClelland family. Throughout the year, Shamrock Foods hosts many shows and events. Recently they hosted a trip to Ireland with their vendor partners. The trips were awarded to their customers through random drawings.
