As of 2008, the company was one of the largest chicken producers in the U.S., Mexico and Puerto Rico. The company primarily sells fresh and prepared chicken products, for domestic use and for export. Its fresh chicken retail line is sold in the southeastern, central, southwestern and western regions of the U.S., throughout Puerto Rico, and in the northern and central regions of Mexico. Additionally, the company sells its products to some of the largest foodservice clients and exports its chicken products to 80 countries. To support its chicken business, the company operates feed mills, hatcheries, processing plants and distribution centers in 14 states, Puerto Rico and Mexico. In addition to chicken products, the company sells other types of meat and staples to its foodservice and export clients, and it produces and sells table eggs, commercial feeds and related items, live hogs and proteins.
