Founded in 1857, Parsons and Whittemore of New York is one of the worlds largest producers of wood pulp and bleached kraft pulp. They manufacture paper grade chemical wood pulp and paper mill building. Their products are used for making paper bags, butcher wrap, newsprint, writing paper and tissue paper. The company has pulp mills in Alabama, which is one of the worlds largest pulp making plants, Canada and Spain. Its subsidiaries are; Black Clawson, which makes machinery for papermaking; and Parsons International, which is a supplier and manufacturer of merchandise for promotions. Parsons International owns Lynx Power Tools, which are used in promotional campaigns by its clients.
