Founded in 1932 by German immigrants, Theo Moll, Emil Jochum and Erwin Gerhard, MTD Products is still a family owned manufacturer and supplier of outdoor power equipment and more. Their consumer products unit makes outdoor power equipment such as mowers, mulchers, snow-throwers, edgers and tillers for both the residential and commercial markets. The CubCadet, White, Yard-Man and Yard Machines brands are targeted towards residential consumers, while the Pro Line is targeted towards commercial industries. MTD Products also has two other divisions. The Mechanical Systems unit makes transmission and subassemblies for the appliance industry. And the MTD Automotive unit is a multi-level supplier for the automotive industry. Some of its supplies include: chassis, bumper, heat management, engine and structural body systems. In addition, the company owns 44% of steel processor, Shiloh Industries.
