Lamb Weston is a major supplier of frozen potato products to restaurants and consumers throughout the world. The company has manufacturing plants in ten United Sates, Canada, Holland, and Turkey, with distribution covering every corner of the globe. The company was acquired by ConAgra, Inc., and Golden Valley Microwave Foods, Inc. in 1988, thereby providing the company with an even greater world wide presence. Besides developing the curly cut and criss cross french fries, Lamb Weston also introduced a premier line of french fries with the skin left on in 1989. Through a series of acquisitions, Lamb Weston has experienced rapid growth, most considerably with their purchase of Universal Frozen Foods in 1994. The purchase officially made Lamb Weston the largest processor of frozen potato products in the world. Their latest product development is Generation 7 Fries, a new product that boasts better taste and a quicker preparation time.
