Green Bay Packaging is an integrated manufacturer of paperboard packaging. Headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the company employs 3,000 people in its 29 divisions across 14 states. Green Bay Packaging operates two paper mills that produce linerboard for the company's 11corrugated container plants. In addition, the company produces kraft paper, pressure sensitive label stock, folding cartons, and lumber for housing construction and retail sale. Green Bay Packaging manages over 195,000 acres of company-owned land and procures timber from state, federal, and privately held lands through its fiber procurement division. The company also offers wastepaper brokerage and paper slitting services to customers. Paper innovator George Kress founded Green Bay Packaging in 1933; the Kress family continues to control the company. Green Bay Packaging's competition comes from other paperboard producers, such as Georgia-Pacific, Mead, and International Paper.
