CASE FACTS: On June 23, 1906, Iola Williams filed a medical malpractice suit against Dr. Colie Crutcher, Jr., and the City of York Healthcare Authority d/b/a Hill Hospital. Williams' cause of action arose out of her visit to Hill Hospital's emergency room in June 1998, where she was treated by Dr. Cruteher. She alleged claims against Dr. Crutcher for medical negligence and the tort of outrage and claims against the hospital for medical negligence, the tort of outrage, negligence, and negligent hiring.
