Amy Ray is on a solo tour once again to promote an album she worked on without her fellow Indigo Girl, Emily Saliers.

POP NOTES

Although the rocker in Ray gets a chance to shine through at times when she performs with the Indigo Girls, she really cuts loose on her third solo album, "Didn't It Feel Kinder." She also shows her excellent taste in up-and-coming bands by touring with Arizona as her opener on West Coast dates (and one show in Utah).

They all gather at the WOW Hall on Monday.

Ray's touring band features former Butchies drummer Melissa York and Kaia Wilson (also from the Butchies) on guitar. Producer Greg Griffith plays bass.

"I just thought I wouldn't break new ground unless someone was making me do it," she says in a news release of her selection of Griffith, the first time she's ever used an outside producer.

Another news release says Ray will swap her trademark acoustic guitar for a Les Paul on this tour. But it...
