CORVALLIS - Oregon boarded its bus Friday evening for the ride north and spent the night at a hotel a short walk away from Gill Coliseum.

Are the Ducks that anxious for today's 4:30 p.m. meeting with Oregon State?

Partly, but UO coach Ernie Kent also wanted his team to wake up here, so they could hold a shootaround this morning at Gill Coliseum and still have somewhere to eat lunch, hold meetings and while away the hours until tipoff. The Ducks haven't usually done that for an afternoon game at Gill Coliseum, but this is no ordinary year.

For one thing, there's every perception that the Beavers are the favorite for this 330th edition of the men's basketball Civil War, despite losing 26 of the past 30 meetings with the Ducks, including sweeps in the previous two seasons.
