Frederick Barton

Frederick Lee "Fred" Barton of Eugene died Jan. 28 of age-related causes. He was 84. A private service is planned.

He was born June 12, 1924, in Dayton, Ohio to James and Nora Seafang Barton. He married Naomi Coons on Oct. 9, 1943, in Corvallis.

Barton served in the Army in the South Pacific from 1943 to 1946. He held a master's degree from Whittier College in California. He was an administrator in the Hacienda La Puente School District in California for 30 years.
