Finally, winter is returning to normal in Western Oregon.

That means rain, dreariness and some slick roads in the valley.

And snow - lots of it - in the mountains.

As the temperature dropped just below freezing Thursday night in the Eugene-Springfield area, several vehicle spinouts and one noninjury roll-over collision were reported in Eugene, along with several minor crashes in rural Lane County, one of which briefly closed Highway 126 near Noti, officials said. No serious injuries were reported.
