When Becky Beilfuss read the news story recently about a young Florida mother who was watering down her infants formula, her heart nearly broke.

To save money, the woman had diluted her childs formula so much that the baby was not only malnourished, but also was diagnosed with water intoxication.

Luckily, the child is recovering.

"The mom nearly starved her child to death," said Beilfuss, who as executive director of the Glen Ellyn-based agency Teen Parent Connection knows the consequences of being a young parent in need.
