Wall Street analysts may applaud Wal-Mart for posting healthy third-quarter sales while competitors are struggling, but the jury is still out with regard to the discount giant's new scaled-down grocery stores.

One analyst is already booing Wal-Mart's new Marketside brand, which launched four stores this fall near Phoenix. Two more may open soon in San Diego County.
