Sorry to lose CBS

As a longtime Dish Network customer living in rural Lane County with no television reception available by antenna, I was very disappointed to find that Dish Network's agreement with KVAL to broadcast our local CBS station expired on Dec. 17. The reason given is that KVAL (Fisher Broadcasting) imposed unreasonable terms and an 82 percent rate increase on Dish Network to carry its station.

If Dish Network had agreed to those terms, the increase would certainly have been passed along to its customers. Now, Dish Network customers won't be able to watch any of their favorite CBS shows.

Shame on Fisher Broadcasting for being greedy during this terrible economic crisis the world is in! Local businesses will likely suffer with lost revenues from paid advertisements that don't reach the large local Dish Network customer base. People will suffer by not getting their daily dose of laughter by watching their favorite CBS comedy shows. Now would be a good time to make compromises and not make businesses and people suffer even more.

Me, I think I'll take the time normally spent watching my favorite CBS shows and instead read a good book, play with my dogs, or get a little more exercise. Thanks, KVAL!
