Seventeen-year-old Iesha Martinez lives in a rented apartment in Roxbury, Massachusetts, with her mother, four siblings, and 15-month-old son, Xavian. Iesha's day begins at 6 a.m., when Xavian wakes up for his bottle. By 7 a.m., she and her son are out the door and heading to Iesha's high school. There; she drops him off at his day-care center, which is on the first floor of the school.
