Last summer, Jamie Lynn Spears, star of the Nickelodeon program Zoey 101 and sister of pop singer Britney Spears, gave birth to a girl. She was just 17 years old and wasn't married to the baby's father, Casey Aldridge, her boyfriend. Both her pregnancy and the birth were subjects of stories in OK! magazine, in which Jamie Lynn talked openly about being a teen mother.
In the articles, Jamie Lynn admitted to being scared when she first found out she was pregnant but said that she and her boyfriend were committed to having the baby. She said that telling her morn about the pregnancy was tough, but that her morn, after first being upset, quickly became supportive of her daughter.
When the baby, named Maddie Briann, was born, Jamie Lynn said the delivery was "perfect." She said Casey held her hand "the whole time" during the birth. She said that watching her boyfriend hold the baby "made me the happiest person alive."
