It's not as bad as it seems

Nothing available in books, relative to known historic economic crises, prepares us for today's situation here in the United States of America.

We suffer no shortages, only surpluses. Energy is abundant. Food, products and services are readily available. Our dollar is strong in the world market.

People live longer, are healthier and better educated than ever before. There are no terrible plagues or epidemics.

Only a relatively small percentage of the total world population is presently actively engaged in actual warfare.

Historically, there appears to be no rational explanation for this sudden economic collapse. Yet here we are, unemployed, unhappy and stressed out to the max, with no end in sight. For some reason, leaders and the media are locked up and spinning aimlessly in the fruitless process of re-examining problems and pointing fingers of blame.

So, we took a wrong turn. That is not the end of the world. We are only human, after all.

What we need to do is to shift gears and get back on track. We can find our way again if we just set our minds to it. People have a long history of being able to muddle through, as long as they don't lose heart.
