This is a wonderful, insightful and inspirational book about design that makes one wonder, where is the science? Christopher Day is a very accomplished architect with many innovative child-sensitive buidings across Europe and in the USA. He is also an author who has written a number of other important books on architecture, spirit and place. This is a beautiful book, which makes for easy reading, but also for reflection and questioning.
Day begins in his Preface with a statement that few would deny, but he states it evocatively: "Environment affects how we think, feel and behave. It shapes our habits, expectations of normality...
