Two new low-floor buses are helping Link Transit passengers avoid taking a step up in favor of a step in.

The new buses are specially designed for curb-level entry and exit, including a fold-out ramp for wheelchair access. That will make boarding the buses easier and faster for passengers who have difficulty getting on and off the buses, including the elderly and parents with small children in tow.

Research shows that low-floor buses's "dwell time,"--the time it takes for passengers to enter or exit the bus--is half that of the traditional step-up bus.
