Article Excerpt This past July, the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) held its annual meeting in my neck of the woods, Portland, Ore., I took advantage of the opportunity to learn what's new in the law library world. The conference theme, Energize, Explore, Evolve, was exemplified by popularity of the competitive intelligence (CI) sessions. Indeed, law librarians were energized and ready to explore their evolving role as CI professionals within law firms.
