The growing use of hot melts in printed and graphic products and developments in hygienic and low odour adhesives were among topics at the TAPPI Hot Melt Symposium held in Charlotte, North Carolina from 23-26 June 2002.

Visitor numbers to this intensive technical forum, were down on previous years to 95 attendees, with 13 first time attendees.

Karen Van Duren, TAPPI event project manager spoke of plans to revitalise next year's event.

`We felt that the technical program was good for those who attended. But due to a low turn out the hot melts group has decided to combine with the PLACE division for next year's event,' she told EAS.

The conference featured a New Technology Showcase, where seven industry individuals were given a ten minute time allocation to present their company's products and future...
