Byron Webb III is proudly following in his father's footsteps ... literally.

After the death of Byron Webb II earlier this month, the 48-year-old son first visits the La Jolla office of a construction lending company the family owns in the morning, then after lunch, goes to the family's other business, Home Bank of California in Pacific Beach, where he is president.

It was the same daily routine for his dad, who died Oct. 1 at age 81.
