In this day and age our interaction with friends and family in other parts of the world is completely effortless. The rapid advancement of technology and easy access to its devices, allows us to communicate with loved ones whenever we want. This luxury also holds true for migrant workers who leave their families behind in order to work in another country to help provide for them. Remittances, the earnings that immigrant workers send back home are an important result of migration. These international money flows are growing tremendously, perhaps, at least in part because it is so accessible to keep in touch with family back home. This book is a collection of essays about international migration, remittances and the strong connection between the two. The chapters touch upon different topics; including, the economic effect of remittances on the home country, governmental policies, association to education and employment back home, and barriers and costs of remittances to the migrant worker. There is absolutely no doubt that these international money flows have a tremendous and a continuing influence on immigration and the home countries of the migrant. This volume explores these impacts, provides ideas and attempts to predict future outcomes of this phenomenon.
