Article Excerpt Cody is a 10-year-old male who is brought to the clinic by his mother. His mother discloses that over the past 3 to 4 months, Cody has been increasingly irritable and has frequent temper tantrums at home and school. Without being provoked, Cody bursts into tears, yells at others (including peers and those in authority), sometimes throws things. According to his mother, Cody's teachers report that he is easily distracted in class, often plays by himself, and has been observed shunning peers. At home, his mother reports that Cody spends a great deal of time in his room watching TV and playing games alone. Cody has gained 10 pounds since his last visit to the clinic, which was approximately 2 months ago. His mother states that Cody is "constantly eating on something." She also reports that Cody appears tired most of the time and that he is not sleeping well.
