Cody Eggleston
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Deschutes County Expo Center in Redmond for Cody Joel "C.J." Eggleston of Redmond, formerly of Eu-gene. He died Oct. 24 of injuries suffered in a mortar attack in Iraq, where he was serving as a private first class in the U.S. Army. He was 21.
He was born Sept. 17, 1987, in Eugene. He and his wife, Karie, were married in June 2008 in Fairbanks.
Eggleston was a high school graduate. He had served in the Army since July 2007.
Survivors include his wife; his father and stepmother, Walter and Vicky Eggleston; his mother and stepfather, Angie and Eric Jackson; grandparents, Sam and Esther Reed, Walter Eggleston Sr. and Dorothy Stock; a stepdaughter, Raegen, of North Carolina; and five siblings, Amber of Japan, Brandon and McKenzie, both of La Pine and Katrina and Shylynn, both of Eugene.
