Eugene Mayor Kitty Piercy was outspent 2-to-1 in the May primary election by her rival, Jim Torrey. But since then, Piercy has roared back to nearly close the fundraising gap.
Piercy has raised $241,510 since the May 20 primary, just $6,061 less than Torrey, according to the latest campaign reports filed with the state. Piercy has spent $220,529 since May, $19,626 less than Torrey, the reports show.
Piercy on Thursday said the primary result, in which she finished with less than 50 percent of the vote and just 797 votes ahead of Torrey, led to the big boost in her general election fundraising.
