ATLANTA -- ATLANTA, Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Four local community partnerships in Virginia will receive $509,500 in grants to create affordable housing for 233 low- and moderate-income families throughout the state, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta (FHLBA) announced today.

A partnership between Community Builders, Inc. and First Union Direct Bank is one of four winners to receive a grant under the FHLBA's Affordable Housing Program (AHP). Community Builders, Inc. and First Union Direct Bank will use a $280,000 grant to help build 66 units of mixed-income rental housing in Norfolk, as part of a larger neighborhood revitilization effort.
