Joey Garner doesn't like to watch TV. She doesn't play much tennis anymore, even though she won the state doubles tennis championship in high school.

Like many working moms, Garner has a tough time finding a spare minute.

"The greatest challenge I face is balancing family and work, because my work is so closely related to my family," said Garner, a mother of three who works with the 85-year-old family business TEC. "At the same time, this fact is the best part of my career, too. I'm fortunate to work with my father, husband, and sister each day."

Because it is a family business, Garner admits it's difficult "to leave work at work."

"My whole family has to work hard at this, but I have a great role model in my father when it comes to this challenge," she said. "When...
