The Metals Service Center Institute board has approved changes to MSCI's bylaws that, among other things, broaden the potential membership base to include a wider range of supplier companies.

Under the bylaw revisions, suppliers of all products and services to metals service centers may apply for affiliate membership in MSCI, as long as they do not own inventories of metals typically stocked by service centers.

Metals producers, who do hold metals inventories, continue to be eligible for separate associate membership in MSCI, with the bylaws altered to add sole proprietorships to membership-eligible corporations and partnerships.
