Still aglow from Oregon's win over Washington State on Saturday night, Max Unger was prompted to look ahead a week.

"It's USC," the Ducks' senior center said. "What more do you need to say?"

Well, how about 27-21, for starters?

Southern California's unlikely upset loss at Oregon State on Thursday has the Trojans suddenly seeming vulnerable. They were knocked out of the top position in both major polls, settling into the No. 9 spot in each.

USC is a wounded animal at present. The question is whether the No. 23 Ducks can come in and finish them off, or if the Trojans will claw themselves back into the chase for the national championship.

They'll play Saturday at 5 p.m. on the grass of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

"People are so shocked when USC loses, and they should be," Unger said Monday. "They've been one of the best teams in the nation for years. They're still that same team, though. Yeah they lost one game, but that doesn't really mean a whole heck of a lot."
