If Eugene voters pass a $35.9 million street repair bond measure in November, it won't be because they were persuaded by snappy television ads or flashy campaign brochures.

There is no campaign in favor of the five-year proposal to finance 32 street repaving and reconstruction projects covering 70 miles, plus three miles of bike and pedestrian path repair work.

The City Council put Measure 20-145 on the ballot, hoping that voters approve it and put a dent in the city's $173 million and growing backlog of street repair work.
