The city of Montreal reportedly has one of the highest ratios of car ownership, but unfortunately, also a large stray cat population. The latter situation is in part exacerbated by a phenomenon also unique to Montreal. With a large renting population in the city, most leases start and end on July 1 of each year, which means tens of thousands of renters move on the same day. In the upheaval (an event covered recently by a BBC documentary film team), scores of cats are abandoned.

In Habitat/04--Cats Radiant City, Brian Jungen continued his characteristic fusion of archetypal forms with seemingly unrelated elements.
