A rat who becomes a Parisian master chef and a story based on the life of an abolitionist took top honors this week in a film awards program that honors faith and values.

"Ratatouille" was named the top family movie of 2007 by the Christian Film and Television Commission, which promotes and honors films and television based on Biblical teachings and positive values.

"Amazing Grace" won the top award for films for mature audiences at Tuesday night's 16th annual Faith & Values Awards Gala at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Ted Baehr, the commission's chairman, hosted the event, dubbed the "Christian Oscars." Baehr also is founder and publisher of Movieguide and movieguide.org, a Web site that ranks movies based on their Christian messages.
