Home sweet home
Strugglingtofindahomethatsgreen enough for your taste? Then build one. Tony Williams is creating anenvironmen-tally friendly home from scratch with the help of his sons, Adam,22, and Daniel, 20. Though semi-retired, Tony, 47, an engineer, has built manyproperties in the past. But this is the first one he has built with an eye tothe environment.
So far, Tony, who lives with wife Angela, 46, and their sons in MarketHarborough, Leicestershire, has laid only the foundations, but he hopes tocomplete the project in six months.
The house will be half glass and half brick, keeping in the heat, conservingelectricity and generating more through solar panels. This is a hybrid house.It will be far more energy-efficient than a standard house, says Tony.
