The new Broadway season, which began officially in June but doesn't really get going until fall, promises to be a big one for dancers and dance lovers. There's Billy Elliot, of course. Bob Fosse's Dancin' and Jerome Robbins' West Side Story return, along with two old Gene Kelly vehicles, Brigadoon and Pal Joey. Below is a rundown of what the new season should look like, give or take a few shows. But who knows? Dates and theaters and everything else about Broadway openings are written in sand.

SEPTEMBER

For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow Is Enuf Not strictly a musical, the revival of the "choreopoem" by Ntozake Shange makes it onto this list by dint of its choreography by Tony-winning performer Hinton Battle. Opening Sept. 8 at the Circle in the Square.
