We have ignored our problems

I am continually amazed at how everyone seems mystified by what is happening in this country.

We have been heading downhill for decades, and it seems everybody is just starting to notice. Problem is it is too little too late, I fear.

We have had American corporations shipping good-paying jobs overseas and replacing them with minimum pay "service jobs," all in search of ever-growing profits. Now they wonder why no one can afford their products.

We have been brainwashed into the mindset of staying, or getting ever further, in debt and we wonder why everyone is going broke. Everybody is worried about TV influencing the children. Well, then there should never be a commercial that says if you can't afford to go on vacation, we'll lend you the money!

We have been concerned with the fringe elements of our population while ignoring the core for so long that the core element (that supported all the others) is disappearing.

We have meddled and worried about all the foreign countries and their internal problems instead of concentrating on this country, and now we can't afford to take care of our own problems. Heath care is a perfect example. Almost all other developed countries have health care for their people, while in this country we have fewer and fewer people who are covered or can afford to be covered
